Materials needed
Pen and paper
Waste items (empty bottles, cans, paper, plastic, etc.)
Instructions
Do it with other participants.
Give each of them a waste item (empty bottles, cans, paper, plastic, etc.)
Ask each of them to come up with at least three different ways to refuse the waste item.
Have each team write their ideas down on the paper.
Go around the circle and have each of them share their ideas with the group.
Discuss the pros and cons of each idea, and decide which one is the most effective way to refuse the waste item.
At the end of the activity, have each of them create a slogan or a promise to remember their commitment to refusing waste.
Encourage each of them to help each other stick to their commitment.
